He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Alton and Fern Virginia Schar (Fugelsteen); and his brother Lee Schar. He is survived by: his wife Beth; his sons, Jeffrey Schar (Jennifer) and Steven Schar (Amanda); his grandchildren, Jack, Tyler, Tate, Peyton, Madeline and Eloise; his brother James Schar (Janet); and his sister-in-law Joyce Hughes (Carl). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
