He is survived by: his significant other Lisa Ashley; his son Ben Ashley Kappler of LaFarge; his stepdaughter Kathryn Ashley Wright (Keith); his grandchildren, Sasha and Sophie; his son Chris Kappler (Sarah); and his brother Jack Kappler of Viroqua.
