He was predeceased by: his parents, Bliss Dolan and Hazel Dolan (Hadley); and his siblings, Helen, Betty, Burlie, Billie, Byron and Bob. He is also survived by friends and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family prefers memorials in Bernald's name may be made to the La Farge Ambulance Squad or La Farge Volunteer Fire Department.
