He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Umberger and Laurene Umberger (Kapanke). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Berra; his children, Jeff Umberger (Stephanie) and Kristi Berendes (Paul); his grandchildren, Sloan, Ames, Kip, Elliot, Arya and Isla; and his siblings, Patricia Hagan (Jerry), Jim Umberger (Melinda), Wayne Umberger (Ellen), Rich Umberger (Bev), Mark Umberger (Deb), Jean Urbanek (Jim) and Janet Romanzak (Ross).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
