He was predeceased by: his parents, John Zanter and Irene Zanter (Mehren); his wife Ann Zanter; his sister Ruth Kabat; his brother-in-law Jack Mettlach; his daughter-in-law Tammy Zanter; and his grandson Adam Zanter.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Zanter (Carl Jannett) of St. Paul, MN, John Zanter (Penni VanBeek) of La Crosse, WI, Michael Zanter of Whitehall, WI, Nancy A. Wannemuehler (Mark) of Holmen, WI, Karen Zanter of Eden Prairie, MN, Daniel Zanter (Linda) of La Crosse, WI, Thomas Zanter (Marci Watson) of La Crosse, WI and Steve Zanter (Vicki) of Stoddard, WI; and his sisters, Beverly Giovinazzo and Mary Jane Sheehan. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
