Thomas James Hogenson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas James Hogenson of Kohler, Wisconsin, born in Marinette, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 12, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his daughter Anne; and his siblings, John, Peter Hogenson, Margaret Ward (Joe) and Karen Hogenson (Patrick Tobin).
As mayor, he advanced the Baldwin Street Bridge and Hemlock Park projects, continued to build relationships between the city, surrounding townships and Ferris State University, and was a steadfast advocate for public health and wellness, including local COVID-19 prevention measures and the Big Rapids Social Equity Initiative.
In lieu of flowers. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to United Way of Mecosta County, the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center, WISE of Big Rapids or Spectrum Health Hospice.
