He was predeceased by: his wife E. Michele Armon; his sister Gloria (Jorge) of Prado; and his sister-in-law Mary Armon. He is survived by: his daughters, Maya Consuelo Gutierrez (Claude Bauschinger) of Brooklyn, NY and Andrea Lorene Gutierrez (Jayant Sirohi) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Siri Ratna Gutierrez Sirohi and Asha Sundari Gutierrez Sirohi; and his siblings, Maria Consuelo (Paco) of Perez de Anton, Remigio Gutierrez (Olga) of Guatemala, Roberto Gutierrez (Maggie) of Guatemala and Carmen of Guatemala. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous loving friends.
