He is survived by: his wife Joan Ann Van Engen; his son Michael Zimmermann (Peggy Entringer) of Kohler; his grandchildren, Todd Zimmermann (Jennifer), Kelly DeAmico (Bill) and Traci Hill (Skyler); his daughter Debra Heinen (Larry) of Sheboygan Falls; his grandchildren, Nicholas Heinen (Liz), Jennifer Gebler (JJ) and Christopher Heinen (Rachel); his child Jody LaPean (Mark) of Sheboygan Falls; his grandchildren, Timothy LaPean (Kari), Matthew LaPean (Samantha) and Michelle VanKoningsveld (Hans); his son Greg Zimmermann (Debbie Plate) of Sheboygan Falls; his grandsons, Steven Pierce (Jennifer) and Jason Pierce; his son Mark Zimmermann (Jennifer Weber) of Kohler; his grandchildren, Erika Kaat (Trent) and Jacob Zimmermann; his daughter Kristi Horneck (Russ) of Kiel; his grandchildren, Justin, Kaitlyn and Rachel Horneck; his child Kari Wimmer (David) of Kohler; his grandchildren, Abigail and Haven Wimmer; his great grandchildren, Nicole, Carter, Mason Zimmermann, Tyler, Collin, Natalie DeAmico, Madison, Micahla Hill, Gavin, Bryce Gebler, Maverick, Wyatt LaPean, Ried, Marley, Drake LaPean, Luke Hackney, Ezekiel, Andrew, Isaiah VanKoningsveld, Connor, Evan, Ava and Sam Pierce; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Lou Beeck, Kathleen Kettner (Richard), Judy Frank, Gloria Van Engen Lorenz, Beverly Van Engen and Richard Van Engen (Jeanette). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in his name to the Sheboygan Historical Research Society.
