She is survived by: her children, Mary Jo Wendels (Joe), Joan Opsteen (Jim), Jeff Vanden Heuvel (Kris), Greg Vanden Heuvel (Gerry) and Phil Vanden Heuvel (Tami); her grandchildren, Shelley Gilk (Matt), Angie Wrbanek (Jim), Scott Wendels (Samantha), Mandy Lagatta (Andy), Steve Opsteen (Andrea), Emily Thunes (Dave), Dan Vanden Heuvel (Katrina), Adam Vanden Heuvel (Jenny), Tyler Vanden Heuvel, Bree Vanden Heuvel (Michael Franco), Mykk Vanden Heuvel and Diana Gerrits; and her sister Mary Grist. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
