He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Meier and Sophie Meier (Fritsch); his wife Alice Van Stralen; his son James; and his siblings, Gen, Sophie, Mary, Matt and Willie.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff (Monica), Mike (Diane), Mary De Goey (Gary), Darlene Parks (John) and David (Jill); and his sister Delores Gevelinger. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
