He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schafelke and Norma Schafelke (Bellin); his wife Nancy I. Prue; his daughter Toni; his grandson Jeremiah; his sisters, Mary Shriel and Carol Geiger; and his stepsons, Bob Bayer and Dave Habeck.
He is survived by: his children, Terrie Reitzner (Greg), Mike Schafelke (Cindy), Sue Klemme (Neal) and Sandy Buman (Todd); his stepchildren, Cindy Monroe (Jeff), Rick Bayer, Linda Engel (Jeff) and Nancy DeGrave (Greg); his siblings, Bette Smith, Dona Robl (Carl), Anna Rowe (Don) and Bill Schafelke (Faye); and his brother-in-law Don Schriel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
