He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schumacher and Harriet Schumacher; and his son Steve Schumacher. He is survived by: his wife Joan (Robinson); his children, Tim Schumacher (Colleen), Lynn Kavanagh (Mike), Mark Schumacher (Wendi) and Lisa Pethke (Chad); and his close friend Venessa.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
