She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Smith and Cleone Smith; her husband Gus Kern; her children, Roger Lathrop, Diane Sandy Lathrop, Donny Lathrop and David Lathrop; her stepsons, Henry and Teddy; her siblings, Shirley Adams (Blaine), Joyce Rice (Kenny), Toots Younker (Don), Joanne Lathrop (Smith), Connie Smith, Paul "Bud" Smith (Doris), Raymond Smith (Evelyn), Norris Smith (Eldora), Darrell Smith and Eugene Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Gilzer (Gene), Norma Sprosty (Tommy) and Johnny Lathrop (Ann Marie).
She is survived by: her former husband Lawrence "Red" Lathrop; her children, Dick Lathrop (Mary Jo), Robert Lathrop, Mary Ann Lathrop, Jeanne Salzwedel (Bill), James Kern (Amy), Timothy Kern (Lori), Randy Kern (Linda) and Sally Austin (Anthony); her stepchildren, Bill, Siegfried, Elizabeth and Harriet; her foster children, Konnie and Karen; and her pet Peanut. She is also survived by grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and even some great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at a later date to be announced after the COVID risk subsides.
