He was predeceased by: his mother Marie Zimmermann, Sr. (Henning); his former wife Carol Zimmermann (Rusch); his father Carl Zimmermann; his granddaughter Abby Hoier; his siblings, Margaret Pautz (Arnold), Gladys Hoerth (Tony), Carl Zimmermann, Jr., Rogene Faust (Clarence), Robert Zimmermann and Daniel Zimmermann (Florence); and his brothers-in-law, Milton Thielke, Elroy Puetz, Alvis Faust, Eugene Rusch (Betty) and Wyman Boettcher.
He is survived by: his former wife Dorothy Schwoerer; his wife Nancy Naujok (Wittmann); his children, Dale Zimmermann, Jr. (Julie), Debra (Kevin), Lisa Schwarz (John), Christopher Naujok (Roberta), Hudson and Jeffery (Brittany); his grandchildren, Jesse Hoier, Taylor Zimmermann, Lionel Clark (Jamie), Lisa Starcher, Jr. (Robert), Sasha, Hunter, Sierra Sturtz, Charlie (Stephanie), Patrick Schwarz (Courtney), Carol, Marie Naujok, Jason and Reagan Naujok; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Zimmermann, Ruth Zimmerman and Jeanette Boettcher. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for the Kiel Municipal Band.
