He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Christel and Marian Christel. He is survived by: his wife Mardelle Christel; his children, Max Christel (Andi), Dana Christel (Nathan McGree) and Alex Christel (Brianna); his grandchildren, Adam Christel, Levi Christel, Beau Christel, Eli Christel and Wilder Christel McGree; his stepgrandchild Charley McGree; and his siblings, Glen Christel (Lynn), Ann Christel and Chris Christel (Cheryl).
When he wasn't working or spending time outdoors, he was in his shop designing and building beautiful furniture and other projects, including a large wooden cross he recently donated to his church.
