She is survived by: her husband Richard W. Schmidt; her children, Tammy Hernke (Jay) and Sam Schmidt (Anja); her grandchildren, Grace and Josh Hernke; her siblings, John Amerling (Anne) and Mary Fleischman (Larry); and her siblings-in-law, Dan Schmidt (Phyllis) and Sandra Amerling. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
