He was predeceased by: his siblings, Joe Kirst, Eugene Kirst and Marie Fay; and his siblings-in-law, Leroy Sanem, Vernon Fay and Hazel Kirst.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, Thomas Kirst (Kat) of Richwood, TX, Richard Kirst (Son) of Tacoma, WA and Linda Johnson (Rick) of Sparta; his grandchildren, Randy, Eric, Katie Johnson, James Kirst, Victoria Kirst, Kerry LaRose and Kaley LaRose; his siblings, Helen Sanem and Robert Kirst (Mary Jane); and his sister-in-law Theresa Kirst. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
