He was predeceased by: his parents, Mayakawsic Hawpetoss and Catherine Hawpetoss (Wychesit); his grandson Darion Larenz; and his siblings, John T. Hawpetoss, Eugene "Gilly" Hawpetoss, Louis Hawpetoss, Neil Hawpetoss, Charlene "Muggs" Hawpetoss-Wheelock and Mary "Totty" Hawpetoss.
He is survived by: his children, Toni Caldwell (Chris) of Keshena, CheeQuah Schanandore of Middle Village and Menomin Hawpetoss of Keshena; and his sisters, Laura Brzezinski of Keshena and Nell Lee Hawpetoss of Shawano. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
