He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Marks and Ollie Marks (Ganner); his brother Lee Edward Marks; and his daughter Paulette Agnew. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Marks (Coleman) of Kenosha; his siblings, Bennie Marks Jr. (Ruthie) of Kenosha and Willie Marks (Joycette) of Kenosha; his sister-in-law Robbiezine Marks; and his children, Deborah Marks of Milwaukee, James Riley Marks of Arkansas, Joel L. "Speedy" Smith (Speedy) of Arkansas, Rayford Smith of Seattle and Terri Cage (Zerome Sr.) of Chicago. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Coleman Chapel AME Church (4111 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53144).
