He was predeceased by: his close friends, Cecilia Bruss and Jan Eckberg; his grandson Alex; his daughter-in-law Lori Geenen; his siblings, John, Frank, Don, Coletta Bauer (Rollie), Mary Griesbach (Floyd), Theresa Kemps (Ernie), Bernice Stadler (Ronald) and Margaret Koehler (Louie); and also, Mary Ellen Hoh (Don), Kathleen McCabe (Clayton), Helen McCabe (Pat) and Grace Baldwin (Victor Groskopf).

He is survived by: his wife Sally; his daughter Diane Downing (Glenn); his grandchildren, Corey, Kristy, Samantha, Josh, Aubrey and Jack; his daughter Emily Stousland (Brett); his grandchildren, Ben and Sophia; his son Robb (Vicki); his grandchildren, Stephanie Harvey, Kevin, Mark and Vincent; his son Jon (Sheri); his grandchildren, Sara and Kelly Carrie; his son Dan (Kathy); his grandchildren, Katie Schreiber, Ellie Newhouse and Tony; his son Tim (Tammy, family: Erin, Shannon, Connor, Hunter Ziehms, Emily Williams); and his sister-in-law Carol Geenen (Don). He is also survived by great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
