She was predeceased by: her father Harold Root; her brother Rick Root; her son Daniel; her parent-in-law Leo Heiden; and also, Brian and Mary Vander Heiden.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Vander Heiden (Tessa Peters) and Brad Vander Heiden; her grandchildren, Cody Hietpas, Tyler Mader, Alexis Mader, Mariah Vander Heiden and Marissa Vander Heiden; her mother Jessie Root; her siblings, Rita Nagan (Tom), Doug Root (Shelly), Russell Root (Dee Arnott) and Don Root (Betty); and her siblings-in-law, Donna Wynia (Steve), Carol Wall (Bob), Jerry Vander Heiden (Terry) and Ken Vander Heiden (Debbie). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
