She was predeceased by: her parents, Art Kahler and Elmira "Mitzi" Kahler; and her siblings, Janice Moder, Wayne Kahler and Gary Kahler.
She is survived by: her children, David VandenHeuvel (Karen) and Dawn Atkinson (Lee); her sister Sharon Van Dinter; and her grandchildren, Kristy Ofsthun (Stephen), Katy VandenHeuvel (Bobby), Kari Dollins (Preston), Travis Doerfler, Brian Flunker (Kristi) and Carly Flunker.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Karla's name.
