He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Kessler; his daughter Paula; his parents, Harvey (Beulah) and Lorraine Coenen; his sister Donna Lund; his brother-in-law Roger Noonan; and his parents-in-law, Elizabeth Kessler, Carl Kessler, Donna Kessler, Ray Biesterveld, Joe, Mary Van Krey and Pat Kessler.

He is survived by: his sons, Todd (Joyce), David (Jill) and Peter (Angie); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, JoAnna, Johnna and Jevin; his sisters, Nancy Wiedenbeck (Wally) and Carol Noonan; and his parents-in-law, Grace Kessler, Bill Kessler, Dave Lund, Liz Biesterveld, George Kessler and Chris Wierzbinski (Rob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
