She was predeceased by: her parents, James Whittaker and Veronica Whittaker (Heimmermann); her parents-in-law, John and Florence Phelan (Wall); her sister Mary Jo Whitney (Whittaker); and her mothers-in-law, Florence Elmer Hoffman (Phelan) and Alice Wayne LeFevre (Phelan).

She is survived by: her husband John J. Phelan; her children, Donald Phelan (Donna), Kenneth Phelan (Kim) and Sarah (Russ); her grandchildren, Laura Phelan, Kevin Phelan, Brittni Nelson (Nate), Benjamin Phelan (Ashley), Emilee Jedlicka (Stefan), Veronica Schlies (Kyle) and Alexander; her great grandchildren, Lee, Grant, Cora, May Nelson, Edison and Ellis Jedlicka; her siblings, Andrew Whittaker (Joan), Judy Mulroy (Dick), James Whittaker (Bobbi) and Susan Leonard (Steve); and her brothers-in-law, Gary Whitney, Robert Phelan (Jeanie) and William Phelan (Kay).
