She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Steffens (Doering) and Irvin Rader; her husband David K. Hermsen; her stepfather Walter Steffens; her sister Sharon Glasheen; and her brother-in-law Robert Glasheen.

She is survived by: her son Eric Derks (Jenny); her grandchildren, Parker and Paige; her siblings, Shirley Vanden Heuvel (Jack) and Mark Rader (Kim); her stepson Douglas Hermsen (Joan); her stepgranddaughters, Kate Hermsen and Tina Hermsen; her stepdaughter Michelle Grimh; her stepgrandchildren, Tyler Grimh (Ana) and Ryan Grimh (Samantha); her stepdaughter Denise LeMay (Thomas); and her stepgrandchildren, Krystal Nechodom (Jeremy) and Kyle Eisenschink (Jenna Hacka). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
