She was predeceased by: her husband Robert E. Schmeckel; her sons, Peter and Timothy; her grandson Jeffrey; her siblings, Robert, Mary, Leo, Francis, John, Esther, Ann (Carolyn), Louis and Russ (Helen); and her friend Bernice Brey.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Merkel (Steven), James Schmeckel, Thomas Schmeckel (Lisa) and Susan Porter (David); her grandchildren, Tracy Mastaw (Aaron), Joellen Schmeckel, Jason Merkel (Jennifer), Brian Merkel, Sarah Von Ruden (Mitchell), Lauren Meyer (Jacob), Tommy Schmeckel (Laura), Kristin Stemper (Sean), Caitlyn Fleck (Kevin), Matthew Porter (Elissa), Michael and Mark Porter; her great grandchildren, Emily, Erich, Claire, Anna, Henry, Eddie, Elaina, Janette, Dylan, Ryan, Evan, Maddox, Lincoln, Elliott and Paislee; her daughter-in-law Sharon Schmeckel; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Schaefer and Monica Schmeckel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame or St Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
