He was predeceased by: his mother Cora Edgar Hammann (Dummann); his siblings, Esther (William Stensaas), Burnett, Elmer, Harlan and Harold; and his son-in-law Alfred Schaalma.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Lauersdorf; his children, Barbara Schaalma, Beverly Rennhack (Michael) and David Hammann (Laurie) of Watertown; his grandchildren, Jerry Schaalma (Brenda), Joel Schaalma (Mellisa), Jean Schaalma, Jennifer Rabehl, Janice Smith (Craig), Adam Rennhack (Jamie), Ruth Grueneberg (Joe), Scott Lipscomb, Robyn Rist and David Hammann Jr.; his great grandchildren, Jay Schaalma (Ciera), Erin Schaalma (Jessy Schuster), Conrad Schaalma, Gillianna Schaalma, Nick Kufalk, Jerry Rabehl, Bradley Rabehl, Collin Smith, Bailey Rennhack, Madison Rennhack, Hunter Fretzel, Mason Prevort, Sean Grueneberg and Josi Grueneberg; his great great grandchildren, Ayden Schaalma and Arie Schaalma; and his sister-in-law June Hammann (late Elmer). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Family has requested that everyone wear a face mask.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Hospice, St John's Lutheran Church, Juneau or of one's choice.
