It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald R. Laatsch of Juneau, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Eloys; his stepmother Rose Laatsch; his mother Margaret; his stepfather Gordy Timmerman; his parents-in-law, Floyd and Mildred Lehmann; his daughter Vicky Laatsch; his grandson Nathan Schmidt; and his siblings, Eugene Laatsch and Yvonne Fritz.
He is survived by: his wife Clarajean "Dolly" Schmidt; his children, Ronald Laatsch (Rosa), Susan Braker (Bruce), David Laatsch (Sue), Dale Jeche (Kathy), Dan Schmidt (Holly) and Dennis Schmidt (Jen); and his close friends, Wayne, Jeanne Steinke and Donna Ohm. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church (400 Hillcrest Dr, Beaver Dam, WI 53916). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church-Beaver Dam (400 Hillcrest Dr, Beaver Dam, WI 53916). A reception was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:15 PM at the same location.
Don was the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship, the Birch-Sturm Fellowship, the Distinguished Service Award and Lifetime Service Award, recognizing Don's significant contributions to the Lions.
