She was predeceased by: her parents, Armond Starr and Sybella Starr (Goetz); her husband John Smith; her brother Jim Starr; her sons, John G. Smith, Michael Smith and Steven Smith; her grandson John Jacob Smith; and her close friends, Mary Ann Mack and Betty Lowman.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Eck (Lewis), Jane Riedl (Dennis), Ellen Mitchell (John), Dale Smith (Denise), Lynette Pauli, Gary Smith and Sheila Scheel (LeRoy); her grandchildren, Kiley, Melanie, Sarah, Jolene Eck, Elizabeth Barton, Tifanie Stark, Christopher, Joshua Jardine, Raychel Crawford, Cody, Kelly, Kyle Smith, Ashley Gottschalk, Kari, Janel Pauli, Laura Bohlman, Stephen, Shaun Scheel, Shane, Scott Haberman and Shannon Strehlow; her great grandchildren, Wilder Jardine, Adley, Zander Stark, Alec, Miles, Tristen Barton, Riley Smith, Chase, Anika, Colton Gottschalk, Blake, Aubrey, Brooklyn Bohlman, Ella Scheel, Nora, Claire Haberman, Savannah Radtke, Paxton, Moxon, Taylor Scheel and Alexa Strehlow; her sister Jean Larson; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Jane Starr, Judy Smith and Jim Smith. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
