He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schick and Ruth Schick (Larson); his mother-in-law Ruth Bauman; his children, Yvonne Ruth and David Herbert; and his sisters, Janice Cizek and Carolyn Bailey.

He is survived by: his wife Marianne Ruth Bauman; his children, Lori Schick, Peter Schick (Marie) and Julie McAlister (Michael); his sister Nancy Turley (Jim); his brother-in-law Ron Bauman (Susan Berger); and his grandchildren, Kymberli Reindl, Jessica Christensen, Ashley Snow (Jimmy), Christopher Schick, John Reindl (Melissa), Kalynn Kussman (Brennan), Brandon Lowney (Karley), Alex Lowney and Madeline McAlister. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
