He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Gerhardt and Estella Gerhardt (Riess); his wife Dolores Stephan; and his siblings, Marie Bockmann, Ruth Gerhardt, Pauline Gerhardt, Kenneth and Stuart Gerhardt.
He is survived by: his children, Stephan "Steve" Gerhardt of Winnetka, CA, Randy Gerhardt, Jefferson and Roberta Rue (Greg); his grandchildren, Erin Juster (Rob), Stephan Gerhardt, Morgan Gerhardt, Wendy Kopischke (Cory), Ethan Gerhardt, Laura Gerhardt, David Rue (Diane), Michael Rue (Carrie) and Paul Rue (Melanie); and his brother-in-law Harold Bockmann. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
