He is survived by: his sons, Richard Smith (Shari) of Holland and Jason Smith (Heather Sigwald) of Watertown; and his grandchildren, Anna Smith, Andrew Smith, Lucas Smith and Josef Nigl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
