He was predeceased by: his son Keith; and his siblings, Helen Eilenfeldt (Victor), Hilda Bigler (Fred), Ruth Manering, Sr. (Robert), Cynthia Marek O. S. F. and Joseph Marek.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Windl of Jefferson; his sons, Kevin Marek (Susan) of Fort Atkinson, James Marek of Jefferson, Mark Marek (Katherine) of Jefferson and Alan Marek (Christen) of Johnson Creek; his grandsons, Corey Lynd (Katlyn) and Zephyr Marek; his great grandchildren, Cooper and Kinslee; and his niece Mary Manering (Dennis Tande).
