She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Franz, and Dorothy Franz, Sr.; and her husband Edward Kowach. She is survived by: her children, Mary Weiss (Fred), Tim Kowach (Jennifer), Dan Kowach (Dee) and Nathan Kowach (Becky); her grandchildren, Christy Anderson (Chris), Reed Weiss, Kayla, Amber Kowach, Brianna Wicks (Bill), Alyssa Locke (Eric), David, Emily, Elisabeth, Joshua and Bethany Kowach; her great grandchildren, Maddy, Lilly, Evey, Ethan and Raven; and her siblings, Lester Franz (Lucy), Al Franz (Sharon), Donna Klebs (Dean) and Jerry Franz (Deb). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many extended family.
Even in her confusion with Alzheimer's disease, she never forgot her promise to serve the Lord and was always preparing for the next class she would teach or song she would play on her accordion or piano.
