It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William R. Hooper of Janesville, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hooper and Emma Hooper (Ellingson); his brother Robert LeRoy; his stepmother Vera White Hooper; his daughter-in-law Teri Hooper; and his brother-in-law Donald "Pete" Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Hooper (Santana); his children, William "Billy" R. Hooper Jr. of Beloit, Jason Hooper (Ashley) of Orfordville and Amy Dodge (Tom) of Orfordville; his grandchildren, Jarrett, Alexis, Douglas, Mackenzie, Thomas, Loey (Chase) and Ava; his great grandchildren, Beckham and Emmitt; his stepchildren, Alex Murphy (Kayla), Rafael Murphy and Marisela Santana; his stepgrandchildren, Tatiana, Myles, Alaina, Stella, Rafael, Julian, Briella, Zaeden and Kingston; his sisters, Ann Olson of Orfordville and Phyllis Connell (John) of Janesville; and his close friends, Jim Barnett (Barney) and Danny Olson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home (21 S Austin Rd, Janesville, WI 53548). A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
He participated in charity runs with his daughter, and would place in the top ten, usually with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
