He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Russell and Mary Russell (Mason); his sister Elizabeth Campbell; and his brother-in-law Duke Campbell. He is survived by: his daughters, Kim Fagan (Sean) and Becky Creed (Luke); his grandchildren, Kelsi, Addison Fagan, Dillon Russell, Mason and Cole Creed; his close friend Suzie Burkheimer; his brother Dave Russell (Jackie); and his nieces and nephews, Greg Russell, Jeff Russell (Tina), Lori Russell (Tim Oaks), Darcy Grady and Wade Campbell.
