He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Helgestad and Severina Helgestad; his wife Ruth Helgestad; his siblings, Beatrice, Margaret, Sanford, Oscar, Carl, Alfred and Floyd; and his children-in-law, Phillip and Trina Helgestad.

He is survived by: his family, Janice Lynn Zindel, Julie Ann Helgestad VanDalen (Ron) and Mark John Helgestad. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends.
