With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Michael D. Schaffner (Janesville, Wisconsin), born in Van Wert, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He is survived by: his wife Helga Schaffner; his children, Dana Schaffner (Serena) and Nicole Nyborg (Jeff); his grandsons, Michael Schaffner (Jenny), Carson Schaffner, Trevin Schaffner, Nolan Nyborg and Logan Nyborg; his brother Daniel Schaffner (Martha); and his nephew Bradley Schaffner.

“Here is a photo of the last time all of the first cousins were together. It was for Aunt Marian's funeral in 2015. Then and always, Mike was the leader of the pack as the eldest cousin. His presence in this world is already missed.”
