He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Alwin and Emma Alwin (Ullius); his siblings, Esther, Clara, Ethel, Edgar, Harold, Dorothy, Frank and Virginia; and his close friend Jean F. Cramer.

He is survived by: Mae Cowan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice.
