He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin "Pat" and Lucille Knepel; his brother Harvey; and his brother-in-law Heinz Jeschke. He is survived by: his wife Vanessa; his son Carl; his siblings, Pat Jeschke, Sue Beine (Richard), Thomas Knepel (Jackie) and Bob Knepel (Nancy); and his sister-in-law Donna. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.
