Richard W. Jorgenson Obituary
Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the age of 69. Born on August 8, 1952 to Donald and Gladys (née Starks) Jorgenson in Laona, WI. He is survived by his son Robert Jorgenson, granddaughters Alexis and Maddilyn Jorgenson, his sister Joline (Jerry) Wendt, his nieces Jaime (Jeffrey) Wendt Andrae and Kelly (Ross) Lemke, his nephews Kevin (Jennifer) Wendt and Joshua (Anna) Wendt, his great nephews Holden Andrae and Dylan Lemke, and his great nieces Eloise Wendt and Amelia Wendt. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
After high school, Rick began working at Albert's Super Service in Oconomowoc, eventually becoming assistant manager. But his true passion was to become a police officer. Rick began working as a part time officer in the Village of Lac LaBelle and joined the Town of Summit Police Department as a patrol officer in 1974. He was serving as a Detective Sargent with the Town of Summit Police Department when he was forced to retire due to an on the job injury in May 2004. Rick served a total of 28 years as a police officer.
Rick was also a member of the Oconomowoc Fire Department from 1972 – 1974 and then joined the Summit Fire Department where he was a member until his police retirement. Rick was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ixonia, WI.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 11 AM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, W1204 Rockvale Rd, Ixonia, WI. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
