He was predeceased by: his parents, Eino Maki and Hilja Maki (Granlund); his brother Rodney; his cousin Dean Pyykola; and his nephew Justin Pyykola.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Maki of Iron River, WI and Renee Maki (Jason Hieb); his grandchildren, Shawna, Tyrel, Kendra, Dakota, Desirae, McKayla, Carl III, Dalton, Bryson, Wyatt, Nathaniel and Arlyssa; his great grandchildren, Wynstyn and Wyllyam; his brother Leroy "Box" Maki; and his stepchildren, Jennifer, Brad, Chad and Jason. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established by the family.
