He was predeceased by: his parents, Hertha Westphal and Reinhold Westphal; his wife Delores Ann Young; his parents-in-law, Arthur and Mabel Young; and his brothers-in-law, Arthur Young (Caroline), Delmar (Dolores) and Alphonse Westphal.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Firari (Bob Justmann), Debra Roeseler (Bob), Dale (Sandra) and Duane (Sarah); his grandchildren, Shawn Westphal, Steve Firari (Megan), Scott Firari (Cory), Michael Firari (Amber), Robyn Roeseler (Bob Schilter), Matthew Westphal, Brooke Moran (Kyle), Madelyn Westphal, Andrew Christensen (Kate), Katelyn Soltis (Jake) and Kelsey Faulkner (Carson); his great grandchildren, Trent (Sydney), Tyler Westphal (Shannon), Tiana Clucas (Christopher), Wyatt Westphal, Kylee, Hailey, Eva Firari, Miles, Monroe Firari, Mia, Isabelle Firari, Jailyn, Jocelyn Schilter, Owen Moran, Landon, Reid Christensen, Devon, Jayden and Jaxon Soltis; his great great grandchildren, Brynley and Maverick Westphal; and his sisters-in-law, Roseanne Westphal and Donna Kling. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
