He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Neis and Eileen Neis (Brown); his sons, Ricky and Joe; and his siblings, Virgil (Bud), Donald (Baldy), Tom, Duane, Maxine, Lois and Phyllis.

He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline Huck, Roechelle Haupt (Jeff) and John Neis Jr. (Mary); and his grandchildren, Chuck, Tatum, Tamara, Ricky, Eric, Katie, Bryce and Jordan.
