Edward M. Elstad Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward M. Elstad of Independence, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Edward may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo M. Elstad and Maria "Mary" C. Elstad (Jelen); and his brother Paul. He is survived by: his wife Joan (Platz); his sons, Jay of Elk River, MN and Bradley (Beth) of Zionsville, IN; his grandchildren, Connor, Ava and Delaney; and his sister Andrine (Lawrence) of Bella Vista, AR. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Church of Saint Andrew (566 4th St NW, Elk River, MN 55330). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
