It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Dean Smith (Hudson, Wisconsin), born in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Smith and Hazel Joiner; his siblings, Karen and John; his daughter-in-law Helen Chung; and his grandson Samuel Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Penny; his children, Brent, Mathew (Donna) and Elizabeth (Adam Smith); his grandchildren, Emma (Thomas Goldberg), Isabel, Caitlin, Reuben, Mairin, Zoey and Mira; his great grandchild River Goldberg; his sister Sonja Hettwer (Robert Johnston); and his sister-in-law Linda Smith.
