He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Sylvan and Margaret Meyer; his granddaughters, Lily Stauss and Samantha Miennert; his nephew Jeffrey Stauss; his brother Dennis Stauss; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Schmitz, Gerald Meyer and Al Steiner.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Meyer; his children, Brian Stauss (Kelly), Carol Wehrmann (Jerry), Kevin Stauss (Tami), Charles Stauss (Brenda), Scott Stauss (Nikki) and Kelly Flaig (Robert); his grandchildren, Zachary Stauss (Ally Snow), Derek Stauss (Amber Wuensch), Tina Salm (Duane Hitsman), Ryan Westphalen (Erin), Katie Wehrmann, Eric, Anna Miennert, Miranda Stauss, Erika Stauss (Dylan Pierce), Kendra Stauss (Ty Davis), Carlie Fischer (Jordan), Olivia McCraw (Cole), Jazmin Stauss, Mason Stauss (Stephanie), Cierrah Prunty (Alex), Somer Kern (Thomas), Shane Flaig and Camden Flaig; his great grandchildren, Addison, Ivan Salm, Ethan Westphalen, Grace, Harper Miennert, Caleb, Abby, Levi Heinen, Xavier Stauss, Ruby Prunty, Thea and Amelia Kern; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Stauss, Anna Mae Schmitz, Fran Steiner, Sharyn Meyer and Betty (Lee).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (94 S Lincoln St, Elkhart Lake, WI 53020). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
