He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Harms and Marie Harms (Zuengler); his in-law Edna Richter; his siblings, Mary Harms and Allan Harms; his brothers-in-law, Orlin Schueler and Ralph Horness; his in-laws, Clarence, Elvira Richter and Joyce Richter; his niece Ann Westermeyer; his nephew Henry Westermeyer; his granddaughter Jordin Koenig; and his great-niece Brianna Westermeyer.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Harms; his children, Kristin Murphy (Daniel), Keri Koenig (Brett), Michael Harms (Kelly) and Matthew Harms (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Kelsey Frericks (Jake), Kassidy Murphy (Mason), Khloe Murphy, Konnor Koenig (Taylor), Julia Koenig (Brandon), Kyle Koenig, Genasys, Jonah Harms, Owen and Hope Harms; his great grandchild Carson Frericks; his siblings, Carol Horness, Janet Schueler, Judy Westermeyer (Fred), Molly Weiler (Bill), Sandra Harms and Carl Harms (Donna); his sister-in-law Helen Harms; and his in-laws, Carl Richter (Mary Austin), Wally Richter (Beth) and Diane Ninnemann (Richard). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in John's name.
