He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaylord Karsteadt and Ida Karsteadt (Lautenschlager); his wife Audrey Schumacher; his brother LeRoy Karsteadt (Jeanette); his sister-in-law Barbara Wildeman; and his parents-in-law, Lester and Alice Schumacher (Schmidt).
He is survived by: his children, Gail Gottsacker (Mike) of Elkhart Lake, Gary Karsteadt (Charisse) of Tomahawk and Pat Nauschutz (Karl) of Howards Grove, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Jason Gottsacker, Jennifer Klinzing, Megan Schwede (Jonathan) and Zachary Nauschutz; his great grandchildren, Gavin Klinzing and Logan Klinzing; and his brother-in-law John Wildeman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
