He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hanke and Wilhemina Hanke (Kohl); and his parents-in-law, Hugo and Edna Gessert. He is survived by: his wife Doris Gessert; and his children, Robert Hanke (Kathy), Carol Mae Milbrath (Jim), Howards Grove and Bette Jane Thiel (Otto). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
